Lesson 18 - A Lesson on Beating Stress

Hey there, it's Donna Krech, Welcome to another episode of Life Style Success. Well last week you met Shelley. We were laughing when we were looking at the video because she shared with you who she was and what she does and how she loves hearing from you. And how any questions you have you can reach out to her and ask her, but she forgot to tell you she was Shelley. That was Shelley.

 

So we wanted you to understand we're in this together. We wanted you to really realize that when you reach out to her with an email or you give her a phone call that she really is that person on the other end who is really dedicated to helping you get to where you want to go. She's very excited about being part of a company who allows people to not just lose the weight but keep it off. Become fit and stay fit. Become healthy and remain healthy for the rest of their life. So as we take you through this Life Style Success journey, Shelley is who you're going to reach out to and she gets really excited to hear your stories. So give us that feedback. Let us know how things are going as you're setting your goals, as you're achieving those goals, as you're embarking on your plan and as you're discovery the things that have really prevented you from success were not food at all, let us know that.

 

Now there still may be a part of you going, "I don't know about all that 'it's not about the food thing'." Well we've shared a lot of weeks together talking about a lot of content regarding the motivation assassinators - the things that assassinate your motivation. The things that prevent you from getting to where you want to go. Namely, better health, become fit and losing the weight. We've talked about how to have never-ending motivation. We've talked about focus, belief, habits, etc. and lots and lots of content was covered. So what we want to make sure we share with you today is an even deeper understanding. So stop right now, clear your mind and think about what I'm going to say to you.

 

Remember how a couple of weeks ago I told that you might be sitting at the kitchen table and you've got bills all over the place and you're just stressed out with, I don't know what to pay and I'm juggling and I'm not able to pay that one or I can only pay a little bit of this one. Or what am I going to do? And there's just more bill than there is month as they say. Well you sit there exasperated and you find yourself just pushing yourself away from the table and running for the cupboard where the brownies live or the pantry where the chips live. Or some kind of comfort food that isn't comforting at all, in the end it makes our body feel terrible, but it's comforting to us an experiential perspective because that's what we've run for, to make us feel good.

 

In that little story I just shared with you, the problem isn't the food the problem is really what made you run for the food. In that case it was financial stress. So today I'm going to ask you-and the reason I asked you to clear your mind-is to stop and think about what you think is your biggest source of stress. I'm going to make you aware right now of all you have available to you with Life Style Success. If you find that you do experience stress from finances the great news is upcoming there will be multiple weeks covering how to handle financial stress. Multiple weeks on how to get out debt. Multiple weeks about how to build your savings or your investments. Multiple weeks even on how to increase your income. And an exciting thing for you might be that we're going to be talking about how to increase your income with helping a person healthier, just like you're doing.

 

But the great news for today is that you can indeed reach out to Shelley right now and say, "Hey, I think financial stress is my issue" and we will send you four complete lessons, right now, today, on how to handle financial stress. Now maybe financial stress isn't your issue at all. Maybe you're issue, clear your mind, stop and think about this again, might be relational stress. It might be that you find yourself exasperated with your kids or your significant other. It might be that you find yourself not knowing how to handle situations at work with other people. If you find that what really causes you stress are situations that involve other people, then that's what we call relational stress. Same offer is there though. Now remember this is all tied into your food, your health and your exercise habits. Now maybe it's that you just aren't sure how to communicate something. You know what you want to say, but you're not sure how to say because you're not getting the outcome that you want. See again what we've discovered is the stressors aren't food related at all. The reason we're not exercising has nothing to do with the fact that exercise is a problem, it's that we don't feel like it because we're not motivated. And the things that are stealing our motivation are these different stressors that are out there.

But the most important thing for you to remember today is there are things that are zapping your motivation that when you learn how to handle them, they won't zap your motivation anymore and you'll be able to stick to your eating program, stick to your exercise program and stick to those health practices that are going to cause you to feel fantastic for the rest of your life.
